Parad Shivling - This form of Lord Shiva is highly sacred and blessed and made of Parad (solidified mercury). Mercury is a divine metal according to Hindu tradition and also the metal possesses great spiritual and healing powers. When molded into a Shivling it assumes the power of creation-destruction-regeneration of life -the very force of Lord Shiva in his truest avatar.
Ancient traditions state (as in the Shiv Purana) that worshipping a Parad Shivling is as blessed as worshipping a thousand normal Shivlings. They claim it brings peace, prosperity and spiritual development as well as eliminating all kinds of impediments and bad energies in life.
